OK! So you are a writer and most times you wonder if you are that good or if you are just as worst, or maybe you are looking at improving yourself and becoming a better writer, these seven reasons below would tell you why you might never become that good writer you so want to be
........,
1. You Still Read Shakespeare Novels:
Except you want to write another Bible or somehow a scientist from Anambra state invented a wheel that took us back in time to the 18th century then you need to stop reading Shakespeare novels. Apart from the fact that the language used is so archaic, this is the 21st century,a century when even if you make sense with simple words you would still be misunderstood
2. You Measure The Quality Of A Post/Article With The Number Of Likes/Comments it has:
It is no news that most writers have taken to Facebook and major forums to showcase their works. However, do not make that mistake of believing that quality posts should necessarily have more likes while the less quality ones have less likes. This is a complete fallacy. I cannot even begin to count how many quality posts I've read with no likes and many other pigeon shit stories with tens of likes. I cant say more, this writer said it all here . Do not get discouraged if you write something you believe is great and you get no like and don't feel bloat headed either if you write and get more likes. However, if having many likes means so much to you then you should read this
3. Your Friends Are Gamers, Basketballers And All 'Worth' Not:
According to this quote 'choose your friends wisely, association is perception, perception is reality' you need to choose the right type of friends if you want to achieve much, and you need to make friends from your field or interest, in this case that is writing. You'll learn more from them than that Chelsea fan you call a friend who keeps shouting Mourinho! Mourinho! while you are thinking of that fiction.
4. All You Ever Read Was Romance Novels:
You've read so many romance novels that your konji level is on a very high 'acidic PH scale' and you can even begin to reach orgasm just by reading this words "kiss me like no one has ever done", however this might not really help you in writing good articles. In this era where princesses no longer believe in 'my knights in a shining armor' and where heartbreak stories are on everybody's phone like MTN's 'text kiss to 33120' to get romance tips, i wonder how far you can go. Romance is not just what it used to be, but if you really believe that writing romance is your calling, by all means please do, this 21st century tips would help you.
5. You Do Not Have A Role Model:
I know you think you are so good and when you write earthquakes happen somewhere in China but if you do not have a role model, a mentor, someone that inspires you, then you are going no where. Hard Truth
6. You Are Afraid Of Sharing Your Opinion:
I don't know if it's like this everywhere in the world but you only need visit Nairaland and popular Nigerian blogs to see how people and their generations are being bombarded with insults just for sharing their thoughts, speaking their mind and/or asking for help. It is so easy to be afraid to say what's on your mind, however if you want to be a good writer than you need to learn how to speak without that feeling of fear. Read this tips
7. You Are Like '2 years ago me' :
Two years ago i had, 1 563 perfect stories, 392 awesome poems and 528 great quotes. Believe me, i had them, i had them all in my head. I would just lie down and think of the characters, design the plots and play out the scenes and when the story has gotten to that point of unprecedented perfection, a fictitious pen would just appear from no where and write THE END. It was as sweet as it was depressing, but i was able to fight it and you should do. Now i write one story at a time. They might not be as perfect as it was in my head but i am getting better.
